Paul Morin receives the NH Construction Industry Ethics Award

We believe there are two equally important aspects of delivering the best residential construction. The product has to be expertly installed and that’s half of the job. The other half is to provide the best experience possible for the client. The home owner should feel informed and in control. A truly satisfied client enjoys both quality in the construction and a great experience during the project. Tarkka Homes has been building fine homes and distinctive remodels throughout southern New Hampshire since 1990. We are proud members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), NH Home Builders Association (NHHBA), Greater Manchester-Nashua Home Builders & Remodelers Association (GMNHBRA) and the Contoocook Chamber of Commerce in Hopkinton, NH. Paul and Tricia Morin co-Chair the NHHBA Government Affairs Committee and are registered lobbyists volunteering their time on behalf of the NHHBA in Concord, NH and Washington, DC. Paul holds the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) designation from NAHB while Tricia is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), also from NAHB
PAUL MORIN – was the Founder/Owner of Tarkka Homes from 1989-2020. Paul received many awards for his contributions to the state and local HBA’s and was inducted into the NHHBA Hall of Fame. He was the first residential builder to have won the NH Construction Industry Ethics Award. He was also an expert consultant and author of many industry-related articles for publication. Paul passed of Glioblastoma Multi-form IV brain cancer in September 2020. Tarkka Homes and its family continues Paul’s legacy.
TRICIA MORIN entered the home building trade in 1991. She is an experienced builder, real estate broker and accountant. Tricia is an award-winning stair builder and finish carpenter. She was the recipient of the 2007 Home Builders Association ‘Builder of the Year’ award. Tricia currently serves on the Board of Directors of the NH Housing Finance Authority and is a Past President of the GMNHBRA.
MATT HEALD has been in charge of all Tarkka’s construction oversight since 1996. He is an honors graduate of the Manchester School of Technology’s Construction Services program. In addition to running the job sites, Matt’s an accomplished finish carpenter and cabinet maker.

At Tarkka Homes, we give the same consideration for these projects as our custom home designs.
TO BEGIN, we meet with potential clients to discuss the general parameters of a project, talking about design elements, budgets and the construction process. We use photos, example documents and building plans to familiarize you with what we build and how we build it. Once we have a basic understanding of what you would like for a home or major remodeling project, we can start to develop specifications and an estimate. We use these preliminary consultations to explore the possibilities of your building project. Early visioning sessions are important to get your building project started on the right track.
IF YOU NEED LAND, we are available to visit properties that you are interested in or we can propose a land search service to identify the high quality lots that fit your needs. Suitability of the site for the type of home proposed is vital. We are very familiar with land and the hidden costs that you need to know about before you commit.
YOUR HOME DESIGN begins once we have the parameters and budget of the project laid out. We design floorplans and we have great relations with architects for clients who want added consultation and WOW factor. Estimate updates coincide with plan changes to keep you in control of the construction budget.
FINALLY WE BUILD YOUR NEW HOME or remodeling project according to the plans and specifications that we have developed. You stay informed on the progress of the work and the selection items that you need to provide. We assist our clients with the tough decisions of custom selections through expert consultations with trusted suppliers.
Paul and Matt have been exceptional in making my dream home a reality. I had a vision and strong views of the modern day bungalow that I wanted to build. They have worked with me at every step to create the sense of style that I wanted, yet would always point out things that would not work or make suggestions. Paul was willing to let me go through his usual vendor or to let me supply some of the finish items like lights, tile, hardwood, cabinets and faucets that are so important to creating a style. They have also been extremely responsive in answering questions, Paul in particular. If you send him three questions, he will answer all three. They kept the project moving and were great at finding work-arounds when subs became unavailable to keep on track. Everyone that has seen the house comments how truly special it is. The vision may have been mine, but they made it work.
In 2015, Tarkka Homes helped us through our first major home renovation. The result was a dream kitchen that we enjoy every day.
Paul listened carefully to our ideas and came up with an outstanding design. Matt and his crew delivered on time, and with attention to detail. They were both very responsive to follow up items to close out the project.
Paul and his team are great. Building a home can be a very difficult process but Paul makes it easy and enjoyable. We love our home. Everything was completed on time and within budget. Paul and his team at Tarkka built our “craftsman” style home just over two years ago. We cant say enough about the quality and the workman ship that went into it. Usually several years in is when the trouble spots show up, nothing here… only nice comments from our friends and relatives as to how beautiful the home is.
